Avalon HR is a PEO (Professional Employer Organization). As a PEO we work under a co-employment relationship. Our clients focus on running their business and controlling their employees. They continue to hire, direct and terminate employees. Avalon focuses on the administration of the employees. Avalon HR becomes the official employer of record and handles the administration of the employees.
This co-employment relationship shifts many of the employment related liabilities to Avalon HR and allows Avalon HR to pool employees and negotiate much better discounts on benefits like health insurance. We have large group benefits you would expect to find at a Fortune 500 company and they are discounted at Fortune 500 pricing. We can usually save a small to mid-sized company $500 to $5,000 per employee per year on the cost of health insurance (Blue Cross / Blue Shield). The savings can more than pay for our service fee. Don Rider CPA – President
Don is a native of the Emerald Coast area, Graduate from the UWF, and a Certified Public Accountant. He has over 28 years of Domestic an d International Finance, Accounting, Payroll, and Business Management experience with Fortune 500 companies. He worked around the globe and lived in Texas, Louisiana, California, Syria and The Netherlands. He returned to the Emerald Coast and started up a CPA firm which included payroll processing. Don’s sister Pam and son Bryan joined him to focus on the payroll operations. In 2008, they spun off the payroll business into an employee leasing company where Don spends most of his time. He continues to do a limited amount of tax work, mainly for clients of the employee leasing company.
Charles “Chip” Wood VP Channel Sales & Marketing
Chip joined ECB Services in 2009 bringing with him 11 years of experience in the PEO industry in the areas of payroll operations, sales and customer service. Before that he owned and operated several bakeries in the Southeast. Chip’s knowledge and experience in the PEO industry and real world business operations make him an integral part of our team. Matt Carey – Regional Business Development Manager
Matt is a native of Houston, TX. As a former Vice President of Global Support, Matt has over 30 years of experience in worldwide business operations. In his career he has built relationships at all levels of seniority, both internally and externally. Understanding customer needs has led to Matt receiving multiple awards for customer relationship skills. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening and cheering for all Houston sports teams.
Leslie Yandle, SPHR – Sr. Human Resource Consultant
Leslie received her B.S. In Business Management from Florida State University and has been accredited with her SPHR since 2003. Her professional human resources experience includes recruitment, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, labor relations,employee communications, regulatory compliance, ethics, and policies and procedures development and administration in aluminum, coal mining, chemical aerospace, and natural gas industries. Leslie has provided extensive leadership and organizational design consulting and training designed to assist businesses and non-profits achieve strong business performance by aligning human systems. She is certified to deliver Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessments, DDI Training, and PHR/SPH certification training. Leslie and her husband, Gerry, now reside in Pensacola, Fl after many years of working in the Midwest, New England, and the Atlantic Coast areas.
Bryan Rider – Chief Operating Officer
Bryan is a native of the Emerald Coast area and a graduate of the University of Texas. Bryan is responsible for the day to day operations of ECB Services. He has over 13 years of business experience. Ten of those years he focused on Continuous Process Improvements for the Timber Industry. His most recent experience has involved payroll, payroll taxes, human relations, benefits, workers compensation and contract administration.
Pam Wilson VP – Payroll
Pam heads up the Payroll Division. She brings excellent customer relationship and analytical skills with over 20 years experience in Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Sales and Administration
John Hadder, VP Risk Management
John graduated from the University of West Florida with a major in Business Administration. He heads up the sales activities and Risk Management at ECB Services. He brings over 30 years of management experience with more than 15 years involving Human Resources. John is a licensed insurance agent with over 18 years related experience in workers’ compensation, casualty, property, health, life, and group benefits.
